The 37th annual COS meeting was hosted in the Woodlands, Texas.  Dr. Matt McCauley and the Berkeley Eye Center were sponsors and hosts of the meeting.  

The attendees were blessed with inspirational speakers in both the mission's and scientific portions of the meeting.  Guest speaker, Dr. David Stevens, CEO of CMDA inspired all with a challenging talk on Thursday night about being part of God's special forces.  A record of over 27 grant recipients were featured on Friday night's banquet.  Saturday night, President Dr. Steve Demick shared about his journey through recovery after falling off a grand canyon trail.  

The mission's conference theme of "Reaching the World Medically & Spiritually -  Strategies that Work"  featured medical, personal, organization and spiritual strategies.  Featured speakers included Dr. Steve Anderson, Dr. Ben Roberts, Dr. Brad Farris and Dr. Kenn Freedman.  Scientific sessions included a corneal update by Dr. Brad Bowman, a neuro ophthalmology refresher from Dr. Brad Farris and an update on the Femtosecond laser and ethical issues by Dr. Matt McCauley.

The meeting concluded on Sunday with Dr. Glenn Brindley sharing for Sunday worship.  Dr. Jamie Pauuw and his wife Halle, invited all to the 38th annual meeting which will be held in Kansas City from July 28th - August 3rd.
