Grant Recipient Video Testimonial - Max Su

Max Su is currently a COS Board Member and serves as the "Resident Board Member."  He is also a COS Annual Meeting grant recipient and he wanted to tell other medical students, residents, and fellows what receiving a grant to the COS Annual Meeting has meant to him....

I had no idea that such an amazing group exists -- A. ESPINOZA

It was a blessing to be able to go to the COS meeting this year. I had no idea that such an amazing group exists within Ophthalmology. It was an honor to be around so many other like minded physicians who dedicate their lives to serve God and others.

The Grand Rounds Super Bowl was an interesting dynamic that added to the conference.

An awesome opportunity -- K. RUSSELL

My time at COS was an incredible opportunity to connect with residents and attendees from all over the USA. It was a huge blessing to network and get advice about the application process. Furthermore, I enjoyed learning about best practices and advances in ophthalmology.

Thank you so much for making it possible for me to attend COS. It was an awesome opportunity that wouldn't have been possible without the grant. Thank you again!

I was truly inspired -- S. DAVIS

I was thrilled and immensely blessed to be able to attend the 2017 COS meeting in Lake Junaluska, NC. As a resident in training, it was encouraging to fellowship with other residents, medical students, and interact with others who are living out their faith in practice each any every day with their patients and staff. I was truly inspired to continue living for Christ in the midst of these often difficult days of training. We must be a light unto those around us in our daily encounters, especially with our patients.

In addition I was grateful to be able to reconnect with the Christian Eye Network folks. What a wonderful resource!

Regarding the Grand Rounds, I enjoyed listening to these very interesting cases once again!

Please know that your generous gifts are so very appreciated! COS is having a ripple effect amongst the young ophthalmologists- reaching more trainees each and every year.

I look forward to the day when I too am able to help fund a young trainee's journey to a COS meeting.

It was a gift -- C. MARTINEZ

I'm grateful for the chance to attend the COS meeting this year. It was a gift to meet ophthalmologists who love our Lord and live to serve Him.

It [the grand rounds] was awesome.

I was blessed to be able to meet many like-minded individuals -- M. GREENWALD

In my first time attending the COS annual meeting, I was blessed to be able to meet many like-minded individuals who are motivated by their love for Christ to advance the field of ophthalmology and love their patients well. I enjoyed the variety of topics, including some from pioneers in the field. I also enjoyed the missionary night, hearing about the work God is doing through individuals and families around the world and how we can help out.

I was profoundly blessed by the support from the society to attend the meeting, not just covering the attendance fees but also the lodging costs and food. Being willing to accommodate my wife as well was an additional blessing. Thanks so much!
